Wildlife * Nature * Pets
As a dedicated naturalist capturing special, fleeting glimpses in time of animals, pets and nature for preservation through photographic images I grew up in a small coastal Massachusetts town, always had animals, cats, dogs, pig, goats, horses, birds and rescues. In the early 90s, I moved from Massachusetts, to New Hampshire, inland 20 minutes and scenic.
Photography has been a part of my life, since I was knee high My early years, teased with cameras never good enough to capture the true beauty before my eyes as I walked the brooks, galloped across open fields and trails and rescued every little creature that I thought needed help. Then in my 40s and nearing the end of my exotic bird rescue and breeding days, digital cameras first appeared on the market.
While living in New Hampshire I was fortunate to live within an hour's drive of Parker River National Wildlife Refuge in Massachusetts, where I would spend 8-10 hours at a time photographing birds and nature. The refuge is stopover grounds for migrating birds and host to many breeding species. It is diverse enough in geography to keep any photographer busy for hours and never wanting to leave.
In 2010 I moved to beautiful Downeast Maine, not too far from Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and other coastal wonders where eagles and ospreys rule the skies and water ways, battling each other for the biggest fish catch . Coastal seascapes, many with backdrops of mountains, islands and monstrous hills abound coastal Maine where deer, moose and other wildlife run free across wild blueberry fields and snow covered hills. New England fall foliage is wonderful and winters cold, but beautiful, enough to keep a nature photographer busy...
My photography has won first place awards in country fairs and has been published by Massachusetts & New Hampshire Audubon, The University of NH Cooperative Extension, Birding World, Bird Talk, Ellsworth American, The forum (Pawtuckaway), Frenchman's Bay Conservancy and many online publications.
It is my great pleasure to share with all, my photography, the special split second captures of nature, pets and wildlife that I have been privileged to obtain while in the presence of Mother Nature's magnificence and In these troubling times of perishing natural resources when several of Earth’s species become extinct daily. My hope is to awaken within each viewer a spark of eternal light for the betterment of our planet.
